Nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of Himachal Pradesh, our college is a testament to the
natural
wonders that surround us. The lush green landscapes, pristine air, and serene vistas that grace
our
campus are not only a source of awe but also a solemn responsibility. It is in this spirit of
reverence
for our environment that we introduce the
Eco Club “Green Hearts” – a platform
dedicated to nurturing an eco-conscious community within our college.
Aim of the Club
The aim of our Club is to foster a deep-rooted connection between the
college community and
the natural world that envelopes us.
- 🌱 Through awareness, education, and action, we empower students, faculty, and staff to
become
stewards of the environment.
- 🌿 To create a college that leads by example in sustainability, conservation, and
ecological awareness.
- 🌍 To drive positive change in our local ecosystem and set a benchmark for eco-friendly
practices.
Dr. Kalpana Bhandari
Assistant Professor of Botany
Convener – Eco Club
Dr. Kalpna Bhandari is an accomplished academic and environmental scholar, currently serving
as
an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany. She holds a Doctorate from Panjab
University
and has been an integral part of the academic community in Himachal Pradesh since 2017.
With a deep-rooted passion for nature and sustainability, she brings her profound knowledge of
the natural world into both her teaching and her role as the Convener of the Eco Club.
Her research, focused on the environmental biology of plants and plant physiology at the
molecular level, complements her dedication to conservation. By integrating her academic
insights with
a personal connection to the land, Dr. Bhandari engages both students and the local community
in eco-friendly practices, environmental conservation,& sustainability initiatives.

The motto, “Breathe, Believe, Achieve: Our Eco Creed,” encapsulates the very essence of our Eco Club’s
mission and spirit. It serves as a constant reminder of the values we hold dear and the aspirations we
collectively embrace.
In essence, “Breathe, Believe, Achieve: Our Eco Creed” serves as a rallying cry, urging us to
appreciate the vital connection we share with nature, believe in our capacity to make a difference, and
actively work toward a future where our college and the environment thrive together in harmonious
coexistence. This motto embodies our club’s unwavering dedication to preserving the beauty of Himachal
Pradesh and safeguarding the planet for generations to come.
Vision:Our vision for the Eco Club is one where the entire college community is passionately
engaged in preserving the ecological treasures of Himachal Pradesh. We aspire to create a vibrant
network of individuals who are not only environmentally conscious but actively involved in ecological
initiatives. Our vision includes:
- Awareness and Education: We aim to conduct workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to
educate our members and the wider community about environmental issues and sustainable living.
- Green Initiatives: Implementing eco-friendly practices on campus, such as waste reduction,
energy conservation, and green infrastructure, to minimize our carbon footprint and reduce
environmental impact.
- Biodiversity Conservation: Collaborating with local organizations and agencies to preserve
and protect the rich biodiversity of Himachal Pradesh, including the region’s unique flora and fauna.
- Community Engagement: Engaging in community outreach programs to involve local residents in
our conservation efforts and to foster a sense of collective responsibility.
- Advocacy and Policy: Actively advocating for environmentally responsible policies at the
college level and beyond, and participating in environmental advocacy campaigns at the state and
national levels.
