• The Department was established in 1965 with the introduction of undergraduate classes.
• In 2020, the department started postgraduate programs, providing 20 subsidised seats for aspiring students.
• In a short span, the department has made significant improvements to its infrastructure and facilities.
• The faculty room and postgraduate laboratories are furnished with comfortable and well-maintained modular furniture, ensuring a conducive learning environment for both students and faculty members.
• However, the construction of undergraduate laboratories is old-school.
• Under the RUSA grants, the department took a significant step forward by acquiring state of the art technology equipment.
• The department has a plenty of space to cater all the basic needs for the smooth flow of academics.
• Every teacher and taught has witnessed the tremendous power of internet during Covid period.
• Additionally, the department also possess a library to cater to the scholarly needs of its students and faculty as well.
• The books in the departmental library contains both text and reference books written by esteemed authors.
